A YouTube video uploaded by the channel “BANTAY BUWAYA” on Dec. 28, 2025 falsely claimed that House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, son of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., had resigned from Congress.
Flagged content: The YouTube video contained a caption that read: “OMG! HETO NA! SANDR0 MARC0S B1NIGLA LAHAT! DI K1NAYA ang PR3SURE? B1G PASAB0G TO! PALASY0 N4TARANTA? (sic).”
- The thumbnail text read: “KINAHIYA ANG AMA SANDRO RES1GN NA? BIGLAAN TO! NA-SHOCKED LAHAT!”
Our debunk: No statements or documents from the House of Representatives confirm Marcos’s resignation from public office.
- As of writing, Marcos is still listed as a member of the House of Representatives on the House’s official website.
- On Jan. 5, Marcos was present at the signing of the 2026 national budget at Malacañan Palace.
Rewind: On Nov. 25, 2025, Marcos was linked by resigned Ako Bicol congressman Zaldy Co to alleged anomalies in the national budget.
- In a video, Co alleged that Marcos made ₱50.9 billion in “insertions” to the national budget.
