Isang Facebook reel ang nagpakalat ng maling impormasyon kung saan sinasabi rito na kayang magpalipad ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng isang military fighter jet.

Ang clip na ginamit sa reel ay mula sa isang video ni Marcos Jr. habang nakasakay sa isang FA-50PH fighter jet ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) para sa isang demonstrasyon sa Clark Air Base sa Pampanga noong 2023.

Salungat sa pahayag, pasahero lamang si Marcos Jr. sa eroplano. Si Lt. Col. Malbert Maquiling ng PAF ang siyang nagpalipad ng sasakyang panghimpapawid.

Kahit na si Marcos Jr. ang Commander-in-Chief ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas, tanging mga kwalipikado at sinanay na piloto ng Philippine Air Force lamang ang awtorisadong magpalipad ng mga military fighter jet sa bansa.

Upang makapasok bilang isang Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate (PAFOC), kinakailangang may hawak na baccalaureate o bachelor’s degree. Si Marcos Jr. ay may Special Diploma sa Social Studies.
