CLAIM: Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has died due to a heart attack
RATING: FALSE
A recent TikTok video falsely claimed that former presidential spokesman Harry Roque died of a heart attack on July 20, 2024.
TikTok user “_ztrc” posted a cropped video clip with the SMNI News Channel logo and Roque’s photo to make a false announcement of the ex-official’s death on July 21, 2024.
Roque’s supposed date of birth and false date of demise were also included in the manipulated video. Roque however was born in 1966, not in 1996.
The clip in the video was taken from the wake of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo where Senators Robin Padilla, Jinggoy Estrada, Christopher “Bong” Go, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., and actor Philip Salvador visited.
The video of Degamo’s wake was uploaded to YouTube by “Kuya Dennis Caballero” on March 6, 2023.
As of writing, the video has drawn 2,299 views, 73 reactions, and 11 comments on TikTok. Leigh San Diego
