Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) management respects Toni Gonzaga’s decision to leave as the main host of ABS-CBN’s reality show.
In a statement released by PBB today, February 9, 2022, the program also thanked Toni for serving as host for 16 years.
Here is the entirety of the PBB statement: “We respect the decision of Toni Gonzaga-Soriano to step down as main host of Pinoy Big Brother.
“Toni has been part of our reality show for 16 years and we thank her for helping bring the stories of our housemates to our viewers.”
Toni had earlier issued a statement about her departure from PBB today.

“It has been my greatest honor to host PBB for 16 years.
“From witnessing all my co-hosts transition from housemates to PBB hosts are just some of the best moments in my life sa bahay ni Kuya!
“Today, I’m stepping down as your main host. I know Bianca and the rest of the hosts will continue the PBB legacy.
“It has been my privilege to greet you all with ‘Hello Philippines’ and ‘Hello World’ for the last 16 years.
“I will forever cherish the memories, big nights and moments in my heart.
“Thank you Kuya for everything.
“This is your angel, now signing off…”
In the first news released by MJ Felipe, Toni voluntarily endorsed Bianca Gonzalez as the main host duties of the TV host.
Toni has hosted PBB since its first season in 2005.
Toni revealed her decision to leave PBB a day after she hosted the campaign rally of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Toni received criticism for this, including from the Kapamilya who were hurt by what she did because she also introduced herself to Rodante Marcoleta, who was one of the leaders in preventing ABS-CBN from being given another franchise.
PBB business unit head Raymund Dizon also expressed frustration with what Toni did.
