Context: Inflation, the rate of change in the prices of consumer goods and services, actually inched up to 1.4% in June 2025 from 1.3% in May 2025.
- The data was from the June 2025 Summary Inflation Report Consumer Price Index of the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Rewind: Reckoned on an annual basis, however, Marcos’s claim was correct. In July 2024, the overall inflation stood at 4.4%, with average inflation reaching 3.2% that year.
