CLAIM: The US Department of Homeland Security has issued a new travel advisory stating that NAIA does not maintain and carry out effective aviation security measures.

A TikTok account falsely implied that the US Department of Homeland Security recently issued a travel advisory stating that the Ninoy Aquino International Airport “does not maintain and carry out effective aviation security measures.”
The post however used a travel advisory that the agency issued against NAIA in 2018, and which was lifted in 2019.
On April 6, 2025, the Philippine Department of Transportation published a press release stating that there was no travel or security advisory issued against the airport.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon requested the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to clarify and take down the old advisory, the press release stated.
The New NAIA Corp., in a separate statement, said NAIA had undergone major improvements with no new findings since 2019, based on the US TSA’s assessment in February 2025.
