CLAIM: Kuwait has again banned the entry of overseas Filipino workers.

A video on the TikTok platform containing an old news clip falsely claims that the government of Kuwait has again banned overseas Filipino workers (OFW).
TikTok account “marylovepeter28” recycled a video of the One Balita Pilipinas newscast from May 12, 2023 to mislead viewers into thinking that there is a new ban.
But the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait posted on its X account a joint statement announcing the resumption of overseas recruitment of Filipino workers on June 24, 2024.
The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has also posted on Facebook a statement welcoming the lifting of the visa ban on Filipino citizens and the return of Filipino workers to Kuwait on June 24, 2024.
As of writing, the erroneous Tiktok video post has garnered 3.1 million views, 72,300 likes, 2,000 comments, 9,614 shares, and 6,000 bookmarks. Andrew Luis Babaan
