YouTube channel makes bogus claim on political leanings of Camarines Sur voters

CLAIM: Camarines Sur voters have shifted allegiance to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
RATING: FALSE

PweDelie TV, a notorious purveyor of false claims on YouTube, claimed without basis on Sept. 23 that voters of Camarines Sur have shifted allegiance to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The false claim was made on the video thumbnail and title, in keeping with PweDelie TV’s style.

PweDelie implicitly refers to the 2022 election result in Camarines Sur, where Marcos lost to then Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo.

Robredo won 958,905 or 88.56% of the votes for president in the province, her bailiwick, while Marcos managed to get 9.51% or 102,921, based on results from the transparency server of the Commission on Elections.

PweDelie did not show any survey or empirical data to back up its claim.

As in previous videos, PweDelie merely rips official government video without offering context or explanation.

This time, it was the distribution of rice in Iriga City. PweDelie simply covered the logo of the video owned by Radio-TV Malacañang or RTVM.

The video has so far been viewed nearly 2,000 times and commented on 56 times.

The channel, which has 464,000 subscribers, describes itself as a “Pro Government Marcos Loyalist” and “Duterte Supporter.”
