CLAIM: Duterte was appointed to a government position under Marcos Jr.’s administration

Several YouTube channels posted videos with titles falsely claiming that former president Rodrigo Duterte has been appointed to a government position by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr..
The claim originated from a YouTube channel named “BANAT KAPANIG TV,” which carried the headline “NABIGLA ang LAHAT DU30 BINIGYAN ng POSISYON ni PRES MARCOS/ D1LAWÀN NA-SHOCKED/ NAMUTLA sa TAKOT.”
It was also echoed by other channels who posted reaction videos bearing the same headline and title.
Netizens seemed to believe the videos as they congratulated Duterte in the comments section.
The video, however, never did not cite any factual basis for its claim nor did it mention anything about the supposed appointment.
The 10-minute video contained clips and slideshows of photos of Marcos Jr., Duterte and opposition senator Risa Hontiveros.
As of posting, there have been no official statements from Malacañang of Duterte’s appointment to any government position.
On May 31, Duterte said in an interview with controversial pastor Apollo Quiboloy that “it was not right for Marcos to appoint him as anti-drug czar.”.
