The revelation that Yeng Constantino, 33, and Ryan Bang, 30, almost became lovers, trended on social media.
This happened in the segment of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” on January 28 and January 29, 2022 episodes of Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.
One contestant said she was afraid to enter into a relationship because she was afraid of being hurt.
Yeng commented that it really hurts to be hurt even if you haven’t exclusively dated the person who had feelings with, at the same time mentioning Ryan’s name.
This is where the Korean TV personality’s courtship with Yeng came about in 2010.
According to Ryan, he stopped pursuing Yeng thinking he the singer can not reciprocate his feelings.
They were shocked when Yeng clarified that she had did not reject Ryan. Yeng fully imagined that Ryan was tired of waiting for her and was flirting with someone else.
They just didn’t understand each other because of their fears then.
The conversation served as a closure about their past.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Yeng admitted that apart from being sad when Ryan stopped courting her, she also felt shy and alienated from the It’s Showtime host.
Every time they meet on ABS-CBN, they simply say “hi” and “hello” despite their closeness then.
According to Yeng, she already understood why Ryan was discouraged then, and whatever resentment she felt about it was gone.
Yeng was interviewed by PEP.ph at the virtual media conference of his collaboration with Gloc-9 titled “Paliwanag” by Universal Records on February 16, 2022.
Even Yeng’s husband Victor “Yan” Asuncion was surprised by the hilarious revelation of Yeng and Ryan.
“Nagtanong siya, ‘Mayroon palang ganyan, bakit di mo sa akin naikuwento?’
“Kasi may mga nakukuwento ako sa kanya, pero yung kay Ryan, never kong naikuwento sa kanya. Siguro nawala lang sa isip ko kaya di ko naikuwento.” Yeng said.
Added her, “Naki-empathize siya kasi nakita niya yung dalawang araw na interview ni Vice sa amin. Sabi niya, ‘Grabe, ang hirap pala ng pinagdaanan ninyo, ‘no? Naiintindihan ko.’
“Naintindihan niya. Hindi naman seloso ang asawa ko, e. Sobrang trust niya talaga ako”
