On Valentine’s Day, actress Maymay Entrata stunned her fans and colleagues by finally introducing her partner on social media.
The “Amakabogera” singer published a selfie of herself cuddling up to her partner, who appears to be a foreigner, on Instagram. It was accompanied with a brief caption: “Happy Birthday my Valentino.”
Maymay’s followers, including her celebrity acquaintances, swarmed the image with hundreds of comments expressing their joy for the actress.
“Ganyarn!!!! Happy Valentines,” said Angelica Panganiban.
“OMG!!! Hala! Ngiga sa pagkagwapa sa akong miga oi! Grabe man na. Maka happy mana miga! Happy Vday miga!” wrote Kim Chiu.
Maja Salvador, Janella Salvador, Dimples Romana, Bianca Gonzalez, Elisse Joson, McCoy de Leon, Chie Filomeno, Jayda Avanzado, and Mimiyuuh were among those who commented to the snapshot.
Maymay, 24, initially spoke out about her present emotional state in an interview with fashion magazine Mega in April of last year.
“Sa totoo lang po may nagpapasaya na po sa aking puso at naway kahit anong maging desisyon namin ay respetuhin po yun ng aking mga taga-suporta,” she said.
She made a similar statement on the chat show Hotspot in July 2021, when she addressed speculations romantically tying her to her onscreen companion Edward Barber and actor Donny Pangilinan.
“Hindi ako in a relationship kay Donny or kay Edward man… Wala po kahit sino sa showbiz, wala,” she said at the time.
“Nagpapasalamat din ako sa lahat talaga ng mga fan na kumbaga kahit di ako nage-effort na pasayahin kayo, pinapasaya niyo ang sarili niyo. Joke, sorry. Naa-appreciate ko ‘yon at natutuwa lang din naman ako. Pero para maging clear ang lahat hindi ako kay Donny. Wala pong kahit sino sa showbiz na in a relationship ako.”
The actress went on to say that the person who is presently making her happy is not a member of the entertainment profession.
“Nabanggit ko na naman po ito sa isang magazine na may nagpapasaya sa akin. Opo. Hanggang doon na lang. Basta wala sa showbiz,” she said then.
