Albert Martinez has been a widower for six years but until now, he is still going through the loss of his wife Liezl Martinez who passed away on March 14, 2015 due to breast cancer.
This is what the 60-year-old actor said at the virtual media conference of Las Hermanas this Friday night, October 15, 2021.
“I’m still going through the process of losing a loved a one but, if for example in the near future, I need someone, kumbaga [who will], make my heart beat again, why not?
“But for now, I’m still enjoying muna yung moments ko with my kids,” he said.
Las Hermanas is Albert’s first project in its return to the Kapuso Network.
In the story of the drama series that will be aired starting October 25, Albert’s character will be the reason for the conflict between the three siblings played by Yasmien Kurdi, Thea Tolentino, and Faith Da Silva.
There was an issue with the lock-in taping of Las Hermanas as word spread that Albert and Faith, the 20-year-old daughter of former actor Dennis Da Silva, were having a romantic connection off camera.
Explained Albert, “I’ve been in this industry since 1981. I’ve been there, done that. I’m not affected at all, it’s show business.
“Show business is a part of entertainment and that’s [intrigues] part of the entertainment. It doesn’t bother me.
“Yung sinasabi nila about Faith, I believe it worked for both of us because the chemistry was there.
“And siguro, I will feel bad if hindi nag-work yung chemistry because it’s my intention, to make sure na maging believable siya sa eyes ng public. Maging believable siya sa narrative and it worked.
“Yung sideline na pinag-uusapan nila is part of the whole thing, but it’s okay, it helped the project and I believe, it’s not that bad at all,”
