Many of us get conscious when we have a pimple in our face. Luckily, most zits go away on their own after a few days. But for this woman, what seemed to be a small zit turned out to be a big problem! Mary Ann, a resident of Cabanatuan, has been carrying a heavy burden on her face for a year now.
Mary Ann’s peculiar health condition was featured in the documentary program “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.”
Prior to that, Mary Anne became viral after photos of her face circulated on social media. As seen on the images, her entire face has been covered with a severe inflammation.

“Makinis mukha ko noon at walang tigyawat. Nu’ng buntis ako, may napansin ‘yung asawa ko sa may ilong ko na parang bukol, mas maliit pa sa monggo. Hanggang habang lumalaki ‘yung tiyan ko, lumalaki rin ‘yung nasa ilong ko,” says Mary Ann during her interview.
They went to the doctor, but since her condition during pregnancy is fragile, they were not able to perform extensive tests on her.
When she was finally able to get an MRI, the scan showed that her eyeballs were luckily not affected by the growing mass.
“Umabot na rin sa mata ko. Nakakasagabal siya sa mata ko. Natatakot ako kapag kinakarga ko ‘yung anak ko, baka madapa kami. Baka makabasag ako. Ang hirap. Ngayong magpa-Pasko, gusto ko nang gumaling para maging maaayos na ang pamilya namin.”
According to Mary Ann, she has become ashamed of her face due to the growing bulge.
In spite of this, she and her husband remains optimistic that they will be able to determine the cause of her health condition. Many netizens also offered support for the couple.
