Amid ABS-CBN’s battle for franchise renewal, rumors spread that Vice Ganda is starting his own network. Vice, who is one of the highest-paid comedians in the Kapamilya network, plans on starting his own digital network. Just like his previous shows, the 44-year-old “It’s Showtime” host will reportedly be featuring variety programs and talent shows on his network.
The comedian will start his own network known as “The Vice Ganda Digital Network” to help others amid the pandemic. According to online sources, Vice also plans on helping other Kapamilya celebrities by employing them on his network. As you may well know, more than 11,000 employees have been laid off work amid the ABS-CBN shutdown.

“Dito lahat ang kailangan namin unahin i-accommodate ay yung mga taga0ABS-CBN na wala munang pinagkakakitaan ngayon. Kailangan ko buksan itong proyektong ito para makapag-extend ng help sa kanila. Kasama iyon sa secondary objective ko,” says Vice Ganda during his virtual press con on July 20.
However, it seems like not all people were happy with this news. Among them is veteran singer Leah Navarro who lambasted the comedian on social media. On Twitter, Leah Navarro claimed that Vice Ganda ignored the ABS-CBN shutdown in order to switch boats and start off his new business.
“No wonder she seemingly ignored the shutdown. To Vice Ganda, ABS-CBN was a cash cow, and once slaughtered by Congress, it was easy to abandon and go her own way. She was never really a Kapamilya forever,” says Navarro on Twitter while sharing a Rappler article about Vice’s new company.
As a response, many fans defended the comedian against Navarro’s allegations. According to some Meme fans, ABS-CBN executives have given Vice the go-signal to jump start his own network. This was also Vice’s way of helping other people in need amidst the pandemic.
