According to the tribute, the fallen soldier’s wife is also serving in the army. They have a son together, Jack Daniel, who is still young. “May God’s comfort be upon his wife, Cpl Norilyn Bimmano Garcia, also of the First Scout Ranger Regiment, and their only child Jack Daniel.”

Before passing away valiantly, Cpl Diaz left a heartbreaking message to his loved ones. In his letter, he addressed his beloved mother and told her to take care of herself.

“Sabihin niyo kay mama mag-ingat siya, mahal ko kayo. Yung mga sasakyan at motor kayo na bahala. Hindi pa ako mamamatay,” he wrote. The writing was almost illegible, and from the way he wrote the words, it was obvious that the brave soldier was struggling to pen his last words to his family.

Yet even though he’s already weak, he mustered enough strength to write a farewell message to his loved ones before passing away. Shortly after writing the heartbreaking message, CPL Dennis Diaz passed away. His family shared his inspirational story on social media.
