Moms-to-be are anticipating the day to finally meet their baby. Sadly, not all pregnancy end happily. For an expecting mother, nothing is ever more painful than losing your beloved baby. International singer Christina Perri experienced this harrowing loss recently, after her newborn baby passed away shortly after birth.
“Last night we lost our baby girl. She was born silent after fighting so hard to make it to our world. She is at peace now and will live forever in our hearts,” wrote the singer on Instagram, along with a photo of her baby’s hand.
Before this devastating news, Christina shared on Instagram that their baby had some health complications. Shortly after being born, she needs to undergo immediate operation to correct her intestines.
She had jejunal atresia, which happens when the intestines are not properly developed in the womb. Throughout her pregnancy, the “Jar of hearts” singer also had to be admitted at the hospital due to her pregnancy complications.
In spite of that, Christina and her husband, Paul Costabile, remained positive that their baby girl will pull through.
Her partner, Costabile, also paid tribute to their baby girl. He shared the same photo on social media and wrote a heartfelt message to all the people who have been supporting them. According to Costabilo, they are thankful for the love and prayer.
“It’s been a rough couple weeks and we’re so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers from you all,” wrote Costabilo on Instagram.
In January, the couple also experienced a devastating loss after losing their 11-week-old baby. The couple also have a 2-year-old daughter.
